Practice Parameters & Clinical Limitations Policy
To ensure all clients receive the safest, most effective, and highest standard of care, our practice specializes strictly in individual adult psychotherapy (ages 18+). The following services and clinical presentations fall outside our current clinical focus and operational capacity, and are not offered at this practice:
- Concurrent Individual Therapy: We do not see individuals who are actively receiving individual therapy from another psychotherapist, as overlapping treatments can conflict. (Exception: We can accept clients for concurrent care if their primary therapist is explicitly referring them to us for adjunct trauma therapy, or if they are actively transferring care).
- Services for Psychotherapists: Because professional networks overlap in the Western Suburbs, this can create potential conflicts of interest or dual relationships. We evaluate requests from fellow psychotherapists on a case-by-case basis during our 15-minute consultation to ensure a clear clinical fit. If needed, we gladly refer to trusted networks like Centered Therapy Chicago, Pure Health Center, Paz Interior Holistic Healing PLLC (psychologytoday.com), which specialize in providing therapy and coaching for therapists..
We Do Not Treat:
- Minors: Anyone under the age of 18.
- Couples: We focus on individual therapy.
- Psychotic Disorders: Unmanaged or primary psychotic disorders.
- Active, Unmanaged Substance Use Disorders: We see individuals with a history of substance use only if they are currently stabilized, maintaining sobriety from illegal substances, or actively participating in a formal recovery program.
